A Scrap from Bemmut's Journal, Dec. 1st

[This is a torn page from Bemmut's journal, translated from short-hand. He must have decided to rewrite this entry when matters were more clear in his mind.]

Sir Lucious has agreed to help me find Sir Kalerecent. [Illegible] [The party] entered the house which we believe will lead to the Banewarrens, and hopefully Sir Kalerecent. [Immediately] an orc attacked, breaking her invisibility spell. With Sir Lucious's lead, we struck, forcing the orc back into the house. We prevailed, but with much injury; I was left fearful of what dangers still remained. Under the house, we found a dug tunnel:

[Illegible] a passage north [illegible] 3/4 of a mile west we found a pack, but no owner. In the pack was a strange note: [summary of note, see Strange Note Found for details]. Aeraina says the note's origin is of hags.

South, we found a red-purple wraith, guarding a [strange] vault with a crystal of the same color, that bound or binds dark magic. Lothian saw fit to smite the wraith, but not before Sir Lucious had felt its [terrible] touch.
