The battle with the Duergar worsens. Until now, the illusion magics of our high mages have held them at bay but no one is foolish enough to think this advantage will last forever. To this end, the King has set in motion several plans to defeat the duergar once and for all.

Tinker Fizbit has had all his resources restored and has continued work on his mechanical dragon. He has given his personal promise that there shall be no more "explosions" - at least none of which that destroy any city blocks again. We've moved his workshop into a room under the prison just to be on the safe side.

The mage guild has embarked upon a project to create greater illusions than the ones they possess now. The details of this project are confidential, however suffice to say that if they succeed, the duergar won't know what hit them.

And finally, the King has ordered the thief clan Ig to leave the city on a quest to find the famed Necklace of Glitter. Legend has it that this necklace was lost in the Banewarrens under the far away land of Ptolus - or somewhere in between. A veritable swarm of Igfiltrators will be heading to points from here to the Banewarrens in search of the necklace (God help the citizens of Ptolus).

By the way, if anyone has found any gliterry necklaces recently please bring them to your local magistrate for inspection and WHATEVER you do, do not say "Gnome Eating Dragon" near it.
