Chapter 1: A Fell Breeze (cont'd)
We headed toward the ruined tower, as that was the closest landmark we could see. It appeared that it long had been abandoned, destroyed in some kind of battle. Igbot headed inside, and quickly ran back out, his hair a bit singed. "Fire creature, fire creature!" He yelled. I quickly cast a spell that would protect us from the flames, and charged forward. I hit the creature a few times, feeling the intense heat of the creature, but my spells protected me from harm. It seemed to be difficult to hurt. It was, after all, a big ball of flame. However, after a lengthy battle during which Janne was nearly killed, Aeriana felled it with a flurry of magical energy.
We picked ourselves back up and searched the tower, finding a small trapped door that opened after much effort. It led into a tunnel that extended as far as the eye could see, and we eventually encountered a group of Kuo-Toa's. However, they were no match for us, and we quickly killed them all without much effort. We continued forth, but the tunnels were long and dark. There was no end in sight, and we had not prepared for a long journey, so we had to head back. We decided to explore the cavern a big longer, and it was a good thing we did. In the darkness, there was a large dwarven city. It was a strange place, filled with strange weapons, machinations, and magicks. They hated the dark elves as much as we did, so they agreed to help. We were able to buy supplies though I had little gold. Fortunately, Aeriana was kind enough to buy me enough food to last weeks. The next day, we were off.
That uneasing breeze felt stronger now.
