Kasaki's Words of Wisdom
"Everyone, I know with the Kuo-Toa's, we didn't know whether or not to attack or to talk. If we always wait to let them attack us first, then we give up our advantage of surprise. On the other hand, we can't go around slaughtering everything we see.
I once met a warlock in my travels, and he gave me the following advice on what to do.
He said, 'Yes, knowing who's your friend, and who's your enemy can be difficult, especially in the city, but in the wild, it's easy. In fact, so simple that even a barbarian can understand:
If it has fair skin and is humanoid, try to talk with it.
If it's green and ugly, blast it.
If it's red and ugly, blast it.
If it's scaly and ugly, blast it.
Actually, if it's anything and ugly, blast it.
If it has dark skin, and you're underground, blast it.
If it speaks a language you can't understand, but it sounds guttural and consonant heavy, like a half-gagging sound, blast it. If instead, it sounds soft and harmonious, bow politely, and try to find a means to communicate.
If it's an attractive looking male, be nice to him; he's an angel and he can help you out.
If it's an attractive looking woman, make a crude pass at her. If she slaps you in the face, then she's probably just a regular woman. If she seems willing to oblige, blast her; she's either a succubus or a woman who wants to use your gold. Yeah, women...Did I tell you about my first wife...'
He kinda trails off at that point and goes on a rant about his first two wives, but you get my point. That warlock was a wise man, though I think that he was eventually found bludgeoned to death in a gutter."

Janne: "Kill ugly things, huh? Hmm." Looking at Kasaki, Janne grins, hand at his spiked chain.
